The mixed quark-gluon condensate from an effective quark-quark interaction
We exhibit the method for obtaining non perturbative quark and gluonic vacuum condensates from a model truncation of QCD. The truncation allows for a phenomenological description of the quark-quark interaction in a framework which maintains all global symmetries of QCD and allows an 1 Nc expansion. Within this approach the functional integration over the gluon fields can be performed and theref...
متن کاملTHE ROLE OF QUARK POLARIZATION IN HEAVY QUARK FRAGMENTATION
We calculate the exact fragmentation functions for c and b quark fragmentation taking into account the spin orientation of the initial heavy quark in the form of analytical and rather simple expressions. Our calculations show that spin orientation may have an important effect on the fragmentation spectrum. This effect is more striking in the cases of c ?D, D*; c? ? , ? , and ?B , B *.
متن کاملGluon Condensate and Parton Propagation in a Quark-gluon Plasma
Finite temperature QCD can be used to describe properties of a quark-gluon plasma (QGP) possibly created in the fireball of relativistic heavy ion collisions and in the early Universe. There are two different methods available, namely lattice QCD and perturbation theory. Lattice QCD is a non-perturbative method, which can be used at all temperatures above and below the phase transition. However...
متن کاملThe Determination of the Quark-Gluon Mixed Condensate g〈q̄σμνGμνq〉 from Lattice QCD
We study the quark-gluon mixed condensate g〈q̄σμνGμνq〉, using the SU(3)c lattice QCD with the Kogut-Susskind fermion at the quenched level. We generate 100 gauge configurations on the 16 lattice with β = 6.0, and perform the measurement of g〈q̄σμνGμνq〉 at 16 points in each gauge configuration for each current quark mass of mq = 21, 36, 52 MeV. Using the 1600 data for each mq, we find m 2 0 ≡ g〈q̄σ...
متن کاملPhotons from strange-quark annihilation in a quark-gluon plasma.
Given the present knowledge about strong interaction, one has to assume that in collisions of heavy nuclei with sufficiently high kinetic energy, a high-energy-density region can be formed in which the hadrons dissolve into their constituents, i.e., into quark-gluon Several estimates2 lead to 0.5-2 ~ e ~ / f m ~ or the critical energy density. The quark-gluon plasma represents a new physical ph...
